Since its inception in 1949, the Department of Wood & Paper Science (WPS) at NC State University has remained closely aligned with the forest products, paper, pulp, engineering, environmental and other allied industries. Our research projects, our curriculum and our extension activities all reflect our determination to address current issues important to our industry-related specialty areas. They also reflect NC State’s broader commitment to public and private partnerships  and contribute significantly to the University’s nationally-recognized success in technology transfer and patent development.
